What is copyright? - Copyright is what gives the owners of work complete control over how their work is used.

Who owns the copyright once the image has been taken? - The photographer.

What does the term "work made for hire" mean? - It means that the photographer becomes an employee for someone, or a business, and takes photographs specifically for them.

Describe an example of a "work for hire" contract - For example, a photographer could be hired to take photographs of products for advertising. 

What are the rules of work that is not copyrighted in the public domain? - Anyone can use the work legally.

How do you obtain copyright? - By receiving written permission from the owner to use their work.

Can I take images directly off the internet? - You can take images off the internet, as long as they are in the public domain.

What is Creative Commons? - Creative Commons is a non-profit organization that helps creators voluntarily share their work, by providing them with free copyright licenses and tools, so that others can fully use their work without it being illegal. 

Can we freely photograph photographs? What are the rules regarding this issue? - It is not a violation to take a photo of a photograph according to the courts. However, if the photo of the photograph is used for advertisement or anything else, then it is considered illegal.

What is a Model Release? - A model release gives you legal permission to use others works, and to reproduce these works without any legal issues.

What are the three main types of Model Releases? - Minor Release, Adult Release, Property Release.

When is it necessary to use a Model Release? - If your images include buildings or people (even people you know), you need to get a model release.

What are two different types of Model Releases? - Material Release – When a creator wants to include personal property owned by a third-party. Aka – family photos, diaries etc. Artist Release – A type of receipt from the artist to the buyer. This indicates that the artist has been correctly compensated for the selling of their work.

Which subject matter do you need a Model Release for? - Commercial Photography. 

What are two examples of breaches to privacy? - Intrusion - Physically intruding on a person's privacy. False Light - Publicly sharing false information about an individual.

Name 3 intrusive acts - Hidden Cameras, Intruding on private grounds, Collecting private information.

Name 2 manipulative acts 'false light' - Distortion, Embellishment.

Why is it important to have public liability insurance? - In case anything were to go wrong during your work, that was out of your control, you would be covered against negative claims made by the public.

Name two types of insurance - General Liability Insurance, Business Owner Insurance.
